Life-wide curriculum

Page history last edited by Norman Jackson 15 years, 11 months ago

A life-wide curriculum seeks to highlight the potential for drawing learning from the diverse experiences that a learner may encounter during their higher education experience. Quite simply a life-wide curriculum contains more potential for learning than any other curriculum. The concept is learner-driven i.e  a learner can choose or not choose to include their experiences and learning in their unique learning profile. At the University of Surrey our vision is to connect learning gained through multiple experiences through a reflective account and mentoring process to provide evidence for a University Experiential Learning Award.

How does your institution recognise and value learning gained outside the formal curriculum?
